How to Waive Your Standard Chartered Credit Card Annual Fee
Part of the SeriesCredit Cards 101

Standard Chartered credit card holders in Singapore can request a waiver of their annual fee conveniently through the SC Mobile app, online banking, or by calling the bank’s automated phone hotline. While an annual fee waiver isn’t guaranteed, customers who use their card regularly and maintain a good payment record have a higher chance of success.

Option 1: SC Mobile app

  • Log in to your SC Mobile app.

  • Go to “Help & Services.”

  • Select “Service request by category.”

  • Under “Card Management,” tap “Credit Card Fee Waiver.”

  • Choose the eligible annual fee transaction.

  • Follow the on-screen prompts to submit your waiver request.

Option 2: Automated phone banking

  • Call Standard Chartered’s hotline at +65 6747 7000.

  • Select your language preference.

  • Press 2 for “Credit Card Fee Waivers”

  • Then press 1 for “Annual Fee Waiver.”

  • Enter your 16-digit credit card number as prompted.

Option 3: Live chat

  • Visit the Standard Chartered Singapore website.

  • Start a live chat session (typically found on the lower-right corner of the site).

  • Request to be connected to a live agent.

  • Ask the agent to process your annual fee waiver request.

What to do if your waiver is rejected

If your fee waiver request is declined, don’t give up—there are further steps you can take:

  • Try escalating politely to a human customer service agent, highlighting your on-time payments and regular card usage.

  • Consider cancelling your card to avoid the annual fee. Before doing this, ensure you redeem all rewards points and settle any outstanding balances (except the annual fee).

  • Alternatively, ask about downgrading to a no-annual-fee card such as the Simply Cash Credit Card, which allows you to maintain your relationship with Standard Chartered without incurring yearly fees.
