As the travel insurance services arm of AXA Group which has over 170 years of legacy, AXA Insurance Singapore has been offering plans to cover you, your travel plans and your travel companions since 2015.
With its enhanced SmartTraveller Travel insurance plans that includes its latest COVID-19 extension benefits, you can be insured with up to $700,000 personal accident coverage, claim benefits of up to $10,000 personal belongings reimbursement in situations if your belongings get damaged or lost, and many more.
To get started, here’s a review of AXA Travel Singapore’s range of products and services to help you figure out the most suitable plan as you compare against what other insurers can provide for you.
In the situation whereby you get injured or diagnosed with a serious life-threatening pandemic illness (including COVID-19), you’ll be able to claim for the necessary and reasonable medical costs incurred within 90 days of your trip up to the limit as specified according to your selected plan, either up to $75,000 (AXA Essential Plan) or $150,000 (AXA Comprehensive Plan).
One of the most important considerations when getting travel insurance now is coverage for COVID-19 and like many insurers, AXA offers its own mix of benefits that covers COVID-19-related claims.
This includes medical expenses, overseas hospitalisation allowance, overseas quarantine allowance, emergency medical evacuation and repatriation, pre-departure trip cancellations and postponement, and trip curtailment or rearrangement losses when being diagnosed with an epidemic or pandemic disease such as COVID-19.
Be it medical advice and assessment from AAS’ medical team, booking of an urgent medical appointment or emergency medical evacuation and repatriation (including repatriation of mortal remains back to Singapore), AXA’s 24-hour emergency medical assistance team is on standby for you.
All you need to do is call 6322 2566 and provide your full name, dates of trip, NRIC/FIN number, AXA policy number, name of the place and the telephone number that AAS can reach you, as well as the nature of help required and a brief description of the emergency.
At times, any acts of terrorism may cause interruption or cancellation to your trip, but AXA has got you covered for more than just this. You’ll be able to make any necessary claims for losses arising from use of nuclear, chemical and biological substances due to any terrorist events during your trip.
Enjoy paperless convenience with AXA’s mobile app which allows you to buy your travel Insurance on the go, submit your claims, access your Shield medical card and panel clinics easily, have a quick view of active policies, and more. MyAXA is available for free download now on Android and iOS.
Benefits include:
With a lower premium that’s easier on the pocket, the Essential plan covers you for the basic medical expenses incurred (including certain costs related to COVID-19), travel inconveniences and personal belongings, emergency medical evacuation and repatriation, personal accident, legal assistance and more.
Benefits include:
AXA’s Comprehensive plan provides a more extensive coverage with higher limits. This includes double the amount of medical, trip cancellation and damaged/lost baggage coverage, as compared to its Essential plan. What’s more, you’re entitled to up to $700,000 of coverage for personal accident, as well as up to $1,000,000 for legal assistance coverage.
Get up to $2,000 for the damage excess when your rental vehicle is lost or damaged due to an accident overseas.
Pet care claims are up to a maximum of $1,500 when your flight back to Singapore is delayed (if it causes you to incur additional kennel or cattery fees for your pet).
If you’re someone who is into sports, especially golf, AXA provides special coverage for golf equipment which allows you to claim up to $3,500 when your golf equipment is lost or damaged due to theft or natural disaster, when you incur cost to hire the replacement golf equipment and even one round of drinks when you achieve a hole-in-one.
As for other sports equipment, the claim limit is $3,000 when they get lost or damaged due to theft or natural disaster.
Firstly, you’ve got to be clear of what type of plan you purchased, when did the incident/illness occur (pre-trip, during-trip or post-trip), what belongings or items to claim for, and who are involved, before you make a claim.
Upon returning from your trip, if you need medical assistance due to something that happened during your trip, AXA will ensure you’re covered for medical assistance if you go to the doctor within 5 days of your return. For any other claims concerning that trip, AXA requires these claim reports to be made within 30 days of the incident via the MyAXA app or AXA’s online claims portal.
To do a paper submission, you’ll have to download the editable PDF form for travel claims, and inform your AXA insurance consultant.
To ensure a quicker and smoother assessment of your claims, you’ll need to provide all documentation that AXA requests so as to provide a full context of the incident. This include:
Once you’ve submitted all the documents required via the MyAXA app or AXA’s online claims portal, you will receive a claim acknowledgement, before AXA proceeds to review and assess your claim.
An AXA insurance consultant will re-confirm the bank account details provided by you before AXA proceeds to expedite your claims payment process by direct transfer to your bank account.
To cancel your AXA travel insurance policy, you must provide 7 days’ written notice. If you’re cancelling a single trip policy, you’ll be granted a full refund of the premium as long as the premium is above $25 and no claim has been paid yet. In the case of annual cover, you’ll be refunded based on the unexpired period of insurance and only when the amount to be refunded is at least $25.
