As much as Singaporeans love all things Japan, that same love does not quite extend to Japanese insurers like Tokio Marine just yet. Nonetheless, Tokio Marine travel insurance is worth considering for the following reasons:
Tokio Marine travel insurer premiums are competitive against that of popular insurers like FWD and Income. The insurer has also recently upgraded its travel insurance benefits to make the plans more value-for-money.
Tokio Marine practices 2-tier travel insurance pricing (either Asia or Worldwide) while most other insurers have 3 tiers (ASEAN, Asia, Worldwide). So for a weekend getaway to Thailand or the Philippines, Tokio Marine will not be the cheapest travel insurance option out there. But if you are going to Japan or Korea, Tokio Marine may be a more affordable option.
Unlike many other insurers, Tokio Marine’s travel insurance is on the lenient side for adventurous activities. Its travel insurance covers even riskier sports like white water rafting, bungee jumping and skydiving, which are excluded by some other plans.
If you want to speak to someone, you can call Tokio Marine’s general hotline at +65 6221 6111 during office hours. Their operating hours are 8.45am to 5.45pm from Mondays to Fridays.
Otherwise, you can also email [email protected] for general enquiries or [email protected] for claims-related enquiries, or simply submit an enquiry on their website. Tokio Marine also has a chatbot, Tomi, for simple questions.
