Citi PremierMiles Card Review 2024

Ever since Citibank launched one of its earliest frequent flyer air miles credit cards in the 1980s, it has been providing an attractive range of credit card options that cater to frequent flyers. Among its more popular cards is the Citi PremierMiles Card which offers miles that don’t expire, priority pass lounge access in airports, travel insurance, and online travel booking promotions. Moreover, as a Citi PremierMiles Card holder, you’ll be entitled to Citi-wide lifestyle and dining promotions in Singapore. If you’re still considering whether to get the Citi PremierMiles Card, let’s find out if this card is suitable for you as we consider the requirements, pros and cons and more.

Compare Citi PremierMiles Card vs. HSBC TravelOne Card vs. SCB Journey Credit Card

Besides the CitiPremierMiles Card, others like the HSBC TravelOne Card and Standard Chartered’s Journey Credit Card are among the many air miles credit card options you would have seen on MoneySmart’s online credit card comparisonwizard.

Let’s do a quick comparison of these 3 credit cards, focusing on the key factors including the air miles benefits, interest rates, annual fees and minimum annual income requirements.

The Citi PremierMiles Card used to offer the same interest rate and annual fee as the HSBC TravelOne Card and Standard Chartered’s Journey Credit Card, but has revised their interest rate to be slightly higher at 27.90% this year. Although the Citi PremierMiles Card charges the highest interest rates among the three cards, it offers the best miles earn rate with up to 10 miles for every S$1 spent on online hotel bookings, and on top of that, it has the most generous welcome bonus air miles.

As for the annual fees, Standard Chartered’s Journey Credit Card gives you the most flexibility in having the first and second year of annual fee waived. If you’re a Singaporean/PR, the minimum income requirement is the same for all these 3 cards, however, foreigners may find SCB Journey Credit Card’s minimum income requirement a little on the high side. Considering all these factors, the Citi PremierMiles Card seems to be a good entry-level air miles card with a wider range of benefits as compared to the other 2 cards.
