MSIG Health Insurance Claims

If you hold a MSIG health insurance plan, there are 3 main steps to filing your health insurance claims:

visual-content-media visual-content-media

How does MSIG health claims work?

Before you make a health claim from MSIG, there are several important things to take note of and these include knowing what type of plan you purchased, when did the incident/illness occur, what to claim for, and who is/are involved.

Step 1

Inform MSIG of the incident/illness

Once you give a call or text to your MSIG insurance agent about your hospitalisation or inform them via the MSIG customer service hotline at +65 6827 7660, MSIG will check if your medical treatment or bill is covered by your policy and your eligibility for the specific claim, investigate your claim documents and cross-check against your former health records, and ask you to submit the required documents if necessary.

Step 2

Get the supporting documents ready for submission

Do remember to keep your original receipts or bills, inpatient discharge summary, and medical or diagnostic reports every time you visit any doctor or clinic. You’ll also need to request your attending doctor to complete the "Medical Report" section of the MSIG Health Insurance claim form (which you can download via the MSIG’s online claim notification page). The documents you’ll need to submit include:

  • Original completed MSIG Health Insurance Claim Form
  • Original hospital bills or receipts
  • Original clinic bills or receipts
  • Original medical report/discharge summary
  • A copy of valid work permit (if applicable)

Step 3

Approval of your claim and settlement

If you’re due for an operation, you’ll have to request for a Letter of Guarantee (LOG) for your admission (Pre-Certification), and you can do so by calling MSIG’s medical helpline at +65 6323 8388. MSIG will also require your written authorisation to contact and liaise with your doctor for an upfront assessment of your medical condition, treatment and resulting claim under the policy. Once your coverage is confirmed, a LOG will be issued. Otherwise, you will be asked to pay for the medical expenses and submit your claims to MSIG for reimbursement. You’ll have the option to receive your reimbursements through FAST or PayNow.
