Why AXA Shield?

Pre and post-hospitalisation coverage

AXA Shield Plan offers great pre and post-hospitalisation coverage at a relatively low cost. With 180 days and 360 days cover for their pre and post-hospitalisation cover respectively, it provides higher than average coverage. For such an extensive coverage for pre and post-hospitalisation, there are not many competitors in the market that can match up to this.

Good value for money

For those looking for a good value plan, AXA Shield Plan A would be the one to look out for with it’s lower than average premiums but higher than average pre and post-hospitalisation coverage. Moreover, despite AXA Shield not being the cheapest option, the cost of AXA rider is below the market average and also provides special benefits such as coverage for Dengue and sports injury treatments.

AXA Integrated Shield Plan riders

AXA offers one rider called Enhanced Care for all three of its plans. It helps to reduce your out-of-pocket costs by covering part of your deductible and co-insurance along with other benefits.

Reduce out-of-pocket cost

With the Enhanced Care rider, it will lower your co-insurance to 5%. Also, when you visit one of AXA’s panel of healthcare providers, the Enhanced Care rider will also limit your deductible to $0. In the event that you visit a hospital not on the panel, your co-insurance will still be reduced to 5% but your deductible will be lowered to $1,500 instead of $0. Overall, you are still able to reduce your total out-of-pocket costs.

Other benefits

The AXA Enhanced Care provides additional benefits such as coverage for planned overseas medical treatment, emergency outpatient treatment, ambulance and taxi charges and companion accommodation. They do also provide coverage for Dengue, Hand Foot Mouth disease treatment, food poisoning and bone fractures.
