Comparison: SCB Journey vs KrisFlyer UOB vs Citi PremierMiles Card

When it comes to travel credit cards, there’s no doubt that the Standard Chartered Journey Credit Card stands out as an attractive option. Offering 3 miles per dollar on select local online expenses, 2 miles per dollar on overseas spend, and 1.2 miles on all other spend, what’s not to like? But how does it compare to other popular miles credit cards?

For starters, the KrisFlyer UOB Card features 3 miles per dollar on Singapore Airlines-related expenses (e.g. SIA and Scoot flights, KrisShop, Kris+) and select local online transactions and 1.2 miles per dollar on all other spend. Meanwhile, the Citi PremierMiles Card also rewards an attractive 1.2 miles per dollar on local spend, up to 2.2 miles per dollar on overseas spend (including retail and online), and even up to 10 miles per dollar on select online hotel and flight bookings.

With a plethora of options to choose from, the real question is: Which one best suits your travel habits and spending patterns?

  • Based on this comparison, the SCB Journey Card stands out as an all-rounded miles credit card, offering a strong 3 mpd on both local (online) everyday expenses and overseas spend.

In contrast, although the KrisFlyer UOB Card is a worthy contender, its 3 miles per dollar on local everyday expenses comes with a catch—you must hit a minimum of $800 annual spend on Singapore Airlines-related transactions. Otherwise, you won’t enjoy this bonus miles.

Meanwhile, the Citi PremierMiles Card takes a more straightforward approach, prioritising specific travel bookings on OTA platforms and overseas spend.

Ultimately, if you’re an infrequent traveller and are in need of an everyday miles card, the SCB Journey Card could be your cup of tea.
