Comparison: HSBC Advance Card vs. SCB Simply Cash Card vs. Citi Cash Back + Card

When it comes to cashback benefits, the HSBC Advance Card provides the best variety and better cashback rates than the other two cards, with its maximum tier offering 2 times more the cashback value than the Citi Cash Back + Card and Standard Chartered Simply Cash Card.

However, unlike the two unlimited cashback cards, the HSBC Advance’s cashback is not limitless. Its base cashback is capped at $70 cashback per month, regardless of the 1.5% or 2.5% cashback tier. Plus, in order to achieve the maximum 2.5% cashback, you’d have to spend at least $2,000 per month. So for low monthly spenders, this might be a considerable caveat.

In terms of annual fee, all of the three cards charge the same rate of $196.20 and a complimentary first-year annual fee waiver. However, what sets the HSBC Advance Card apart from the rest is that you can get a perpetual fee waiver with a minimum $12,500 annual spend. So if you spend at least $2,000 per month, you can easily hit this amount within 7 months or less.
