Out of the 3 cashback cards, the Citi Cash Back Card objectively ranks as the top contender in terms of maximising cashback on essentials–specifically, its worldwide cashback offering. It provides up to 8% worldwide cashback on private commute and petrol, as well as up to 6% worldwide cashback on dining and groceries. This card isn’t just going international with its global cashback, but with its up to S$1 million complimentary travel insurance too when you charge your travel tickets to the card.

Brand loyalty aside, be rewarded up to 23.64% in fuel savings at Caltex, Esso, and Shell branches (inclusive of the 8% cashback) when you pump petrol at any of their kiosks.

And although the HSBC Live+ Card also offers up to 8% cashback on dining, shopping, and entertainment, these categories have a greater lifestyle focus rather than on everyday purchases like petrol or groceries.

Meanwhile, while the OCBC 365 Card is an excellent cashback card for daily expenses too, its lower cashback rates on certain categories like dining (5%) and groceries (3%) despite maintaining the same $800 (or $1,600) monthly spend requirement is a caveat.
