NTUC Travel Insurance Plans

Whether you’re looking for a single trip or multi-trip travel insurance plan, NTUC offers a wide selection of policies with different pricing tiers for both the occasional and frequent traveller.

Classic

The most basic out of the 3 NTUC travel insurance plans, NTUC Classic travel insurance plan has a decent personal accident coverage that’s worth up to $150,000 per insured person. You also get up to $250,000 of overseas medical expenses.

Deluxe

Seasoned travellers looking for a mid-range travel insurance plan in Singapore may want to consider NTUC’s Deluxe plan. Even though the increase in maximum benefit is not as significant as you would expect it to be, it comes with adequate coverage needed by people who travel more than once a year.

Preferred

If you prefer a travel insurance plan that offers the highest coverage for medical expenses, personal accident, travel delay and so on, NTUC’s Preferred plan is worth looking into. Aside from providing a higher payout and extensive coverage, the premium you pay gives more bang for your buck because it covers all types of travel inconveniences that you may encounter.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What’s the difference between a single trip and multi-trip NTUC travel insurance?

Single trip NTUC travel insurance simply means that it covers the entire duration of 1 specific trip. If you’re someone who travels once or twice a year, purchasing this type of plan would be the most ideal for you.

On the other hand, multi-trip NTUC travel insurance covers multiple trips and is more worth it for those who travel more than twice a year. If you plan to purchase a multi-trip travel insurance plan, always check the destination coverage.

  • What should I look out for when buying NTUC travel insurance?
No matter what type of NTUC travel insurance you purchase, you should always take into consideration the country or region you will be covered for. Typically, a single trip plan only provides coverage for one country unlike a multi-trip plan which has a per region or worldwide coverage. You should carefully read the inclusions as well because travel insurance policies don’t include extreme sports most of the time. So if you engage in activities that put your life at risk, make sure that coverage for extreme sports is included in your travel insurance policy.
  • Where can I buy travel insurance for Schengen visa?
Certain nationalities must obtain a Schengen visa before they can visit Schengen countries, such as Italy, Germany, Spain and other European countries. One of the requirements when applying for Schengen is a travel insurance policy. To compare travel insurance policies and find the cheapest insurance plan, visit MoneySmart for a comprehensive comparison of all the available options in the market. Once you’ve chosen your plan, you may purchase the policy through our website.
  • Does NTUC travel insurance cover baggage damage?
Yes, baggage damage coverage is part of NTUC travel insurance policies. It’s a standard coverage included in all travel insurance plans. The only difference would be the maximum benefit you can claim.
  • How do I claim NTUC travel insurance for flight delay?
If you have a travel insurance plan with NTUC, you may file your claim for flight delay online. They’ve simplified their claiming process to make it more convenient for you. This means you can start processing your claim even while travelling.
  • What is backpacker travel insurance?
This type of travel insurance is for those who travel to multiple destinations for a longer period of time. Since it targets backpackers who don’t have a concrete travel plan, it’s quite flexible in terms of the duration of coverage, and has a much higher coverage. Unfortunately, NTUC doesn’t offer this type of travel insurance.
