As you would know, American Express isn’t really a travel insurance company. The Amex travel insurance is actually underwritten by Chubb travel insurance, sold under the American Express My VoyageGuard brand.
Amex travel insurance plans have one of the highest medical benefits in the market. For the lowest tier My VoyageGuard Essential plan, it is already $500,000. For Standard and Superior, it is $1,000,000 and $2,000,000 respectively.
Unlike many other insurance companies, Amex doesn’t list any sport in their policy exclusions. You will be covered even for extreme and aerial sports like bungee jumping, skydiving, paragliding and more.
The Amex travel insurance plans are rather expensive, but they are also often on discount (up to 45% off single trips!). You can keep up to date with the ongoing promo codes on the American Express travel insurance page.
