As a subsidiary of Allianz Partners Group which has a global presence across 200 countries, Allianz Travel Singapore is one of Allianz Partners Group's overseas operations that provides travel insurance and assistance services with a network of doctors, clinics, translators, lawyers and other professionals in more than 78 countries.
Allianz Travel Singapore is known for its wide range of Single Trip travel insurance plans and Annual Multi-Trip packages, as well as its 24/7 Emergency Medical Assistance service, which is included in its Comprehensive Bronze, Comprehensive Silver and Comprehensive Platinum plans for solo trips, groups and families travelling together.
Let’s look at Allianz Travel Singapore’s range of products and services in this review and dive deeper into the aspects which are more suited for your travelling needs.
COVID-19 is the last thing you’d want to get on your trip abroad, but in the situation that you’re diagnosed with it or you have a sudden, unexpected illness, injury, or medical condition that requires urgent medical attention before you return home (including being diagnosed with an epidemic or pandemic disease such as COVID-19), you can get coverage for up to $1,000,000 in COVID-19 medical expenses incurred during/after your trip.
When terrorists strike and cause any interruption or cancellation to your trip, you can make any necessary claims for it, because, as shocked or afraid as you are, you’d want to be insured for this.
Just make sure that the terrorist event happens within 30 days of your departure date or within 100 kilometres of any city you are traveling to during your trip.
With a network of trusted providers in more than 78 countries, Allianz’s Emergency Assistance team can get you the help you need as soon as you need it, such as helping you out when you lose your travel documents, theft of belongings, suffer a cancellation or delay, liaising with medical experts to book appointments for your critical medical condition and even making direct payments for your medical care.
With Allianz’s emergency medical evacuation coverage benefit capped at S$1 million for Bronze and Silver Plans, you’ll be able to put your mind at ease when encountered with any unfortunate events that involve you being diagnosed with an unexpected life-threatening illness or an injury while on an overseas trip.
For the more risk-averse, unlimited emergency medical evacuation coverage is available, but only for the Platinum Plan.
Unlike most travel insurance companies which do not really offer coverage for sports-related and cruise activities, Allianz’s Silver and Platinum plans provides search and rescue coverage of up to $10,000 for sport activities like trekking and diving, as well as Passport and ID card protection and money cover, which can come in handy if you lose these valuables while doing these sporting activities.
Instead of scrambling to make a call and rushing down to buy an insurance plan or make a claim in person, you can catch a breather and enjoy the convenience of submitting your claims via the Allianz TravelSmart App and track its progress on the go.
Besides that, you can access your travel insurance plan anytime, track flights, receive live updates for flight delays, and easily contact Allianz’s 24/7 Emergency Assistance.
Allianz’s range of plans are categorised into 3 tiers to suit the different needs of various travellers. Whether you’re travelling solo, with your family, or just with friends, you’ll be able to choose a suitable plan that provides adequate coverage. Their Comprehensive Bronze plans for Single, Annual Multi-trip and Family Trip are the first tier, which is the most basic of all Allianz travel insurance plans. Basically, it covers the necessary aspects including overseas medical expenses, post-trip medical expenses, trip cancellation, personal baggage damages, and more.
While Allianz’s mid-tier Silver plans offer similar coverage as the Bronze ones, it offers more benefits such as higher claim limit of up to $12,000 for lost, damaged or stolen baggage, personal liability coverage of up to $800,000, travel accident coverage of up to $80,000 in the event of disability or loss of limbs and even death.
As the most extensive tier, Allianz’s Platinum plans provide the best of everything they can offer, with unlimited emergency medical and dental coverage, as well as unlimited emergency transportation coverage. What’s more, if you’re going on a cruise vacation, you can claim up to $25,000 when you are denied boarding the cruise ship due to terrorist activites, COVID-19 cases onboard or other unforeseen circumstances which are stated in the policy you purchased. For more details in their policy brochure, scroll all the way to the top refer to the link above in Plan Materials.

There are several important things to take note of before you make a claim from Allianz Travel Insurance and these include knowing what type of plan you purchased, when did the incident/illness occur (pre-trip, during-trip or post-trip), what belongings or items to claim for, and who are involved.
Whether you’re making a claim for your COVID-19 medical expenses, damaged baggage, or other belongings, injuries, etc., Allianz requires you to scan or take a photo of original supporting documents for any claim reports made via their online claims portal. Do remember to keep all original documents for 6 months from the date of submission, in the event Allianz needs to sight them.
The supporting documents include:
Go to Allianz’s Online Claims Portal to fill in your particulars and the necessary details for the claims. You'll need your email address or policy number, as well as your departure date or policy purchase date for this. Thereafter, upload all soft copies of the supporting documents you have prepared.
If you prefer to do it via your mobile, you may want to download the Allianz TravelSmart App to file your claim. The documentation will help provide a full context of the incident and allow Allianz to assess your claim or claims.
An acknowledgement email will be sent to you once you’ve completed the claims submission via their claims portal, and your claim will be reviewed by Allianz. If you happen to get COVID-19 or other illness and injury before, during or after your trip, and have any queries regarding claim for trip cancellations or curtailments due to COVID-19, you can write in to [email protected] or call +65 6327 2215 for assistance.
Once the review is done and your claim is approved, Allianz liaise with any respective airline or travel agency involved and make the necessary payments needed.
As long as you’ve bought a single trip, multi-trip or family travel insurance policy from Allianz, a 14-day period is given to you to review your policy. During this 14-day period, if you change your mind or feel dissatisfied for any reason, you may cancel your policy and receive a full refund. However, a full refund will only be valid if the trip has not started and if a claim has not been initiated.
Call +65 6327 2210 for general enquiries (9am to 5.30pm on weekdays) or +65 6327 2215 for emergency assistance (24/7). Alternatively, email Allianz at [email protected] or [email protected] for assistance on claims submission.
