UOB Lady’s Card Review 2024

Formerly recognised for its iconic slogan "The men don't get it," the UOB Lady's Card was renowned for offering exclusive perks solely to female UOB cardholders. However, following its recent overhaul in 2023, the UOB Lady's Card has transitioned to an inclusive offering, welcoming both women and men.

Consequently, it has emerged as one of Singapore's premier rewards credit cards. This revamped card presents an opportunity to earn up to 6 miles per dollar on spending in a selected category. Additionally, it provides valuable benefits such as complimentary e-Commerce protection for online purchases and coverage for female cancer when paired with the UOB Lady's Savings Account. Let's delve into the enhanced features of the UOB Lady's Card and explore its array of benefits.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Up to 10X UNI$ (or 4 miles per S$1) on 7 spending categories including beauty and wellness, dining, entertainment, groceries, fashion, transport, travel
  • Up to 25X UNI$ per S$5 spend (or 10 miles per S$1) when card is linked to a UOB Lady’s Savings Account and savings credited into it
  • First year waiver of annual fee available
  • Exclusive birthday month discounts
  • Flexibility to convert UNI$ into air miles at the conversion rate of UNI$1 = 4 miles
  • Option to redeem your UNI$ on UOB TMRW to offset bills and purchases for 7 different spending categories every quarter

Cons

  • Interest rate of 27.80%, which is higher than other cashback credit cards in the market

  • Rewards points cap of 1,800 UNI$ per month

Compare UOB Lady's Card vs. HSBC Revolution Card vs. SCB Rewards+ Credit Card

The UOB Lady’s card offers the highest reward points/air miles for the widest variety of spending categories i.e. 10X UNI$ (4 miles per S$1) + additional up to 15X UNI$ (6 miles per S$1 only if you save with UOB Lady's Savings Account), but has an annual fee charge, unlike the HSBC Revolution card which does not charge any.

As compared to the HSBC Revolution Card and Standard Chartered Rewards+ Card, it has a stricter cap on rewards points, with a 1,800 UNI$ cap unlike the HSBC Revolution Card that has a cap of 10,000 reward points per month, but is slightly more flexible than Standard Chartered Rewards+ Card’s cap of 20,000 reward points cap per year (which breaks down to about 1,667 reward points per month).
In terms of interest rates, the Standard Chartered Rewards+ Card has the highest — 27..90% p.a. and also has the highest income requirement for foreigners.
In a nutshell, the UOB Lady's Card is great for consistent spenders (both women and men) who know which category to maximise the additional 15X UNI$ (equivalent to 6 miles per S$1), and the benefits of having a UOB Lady’s Savings Account (which is still not available to men yet).
